Who we are

Candra Jordan and Tessa Timmons are professional longboarders, coaches, and retreat leaders who have been friends and competitors for well over a decade. Both originally from San Diego, their paths eventually led them to Santa Cruz, where they continued to push each other in and out of the water. Their relationship is equal parts competitive and supportive.

Between them, Candra and Tessa bring years of international competition experience, multiple podium finishes, sponsorships, and professional coaching expertise. But beyond results, they share a deeper philosophy that surfing is not just about performance, it’s about connection and respect—to the ocean, to self, and to community.

Their retreats reflect this belief. Blending surf coaching with breathwork, yoga, land training, and adventure, Candra and Tessa create immersive experiences designed to challenge, inspire, and empower. With a coaching style that balances technical training with encouragement and inclusivity, they meet each surfer where they are—whether just learning to stand and go down the line or refining their style at a more advanced level.

More than surf camps, these retreats are about building lasting connections, experiencing nature in its fullest, and walking away with tools that translate beyond the lineup. Together, Candra and Tessa create an environment that is both fun and focused, supportive and empowering—grounded in the belief that the ocean has lessons for everyone.

  • Tessa Timmons is a professional longboarder, coach, and retreat leader who discovered surfing at age 12 while living in Baja California. Self-taught and driven, she refined her skills and went on to compete internationally, earning sponsorships as a free surfer and achieving frequent podium finishes in World Surf League and invitational events. With a degree in Sociology and Sustainability, Tessa brings a thoughtful, holistic approach to surfing—one she now shares through her surf retreats and coaching programs. Her coaching style addresses both the mental barriers and fears people face when entering the ocean, as well as the physical elements through mobility, balance, and body awareness training. Her passion lies in empowering the next generation, with several of her students now competing in surf contests across the country.

  • Candra Jordan is a professional longboarder, coach, and retreat leader who grew up surfing in San Diego, introduced to the ocean by her father and stepfather, both avid watermen. She began surfing on the front of her dad's board as a toddler, and the ocean quickly became her refuge during a difficult childhood. After moving to Santa Cruz in 2012, she committed to the sport at a professional level.

Candra competed on the World Surf League longboard tour, participated in various invitational events—including the Vans Duct Tape Invitational—and took part in numerous coalition contests, often placing in the top ten and earning a few podium finishes. For her, competition was less about chasing results and more about challenging herself, stepping outside her comfort zone, and growing both personally and professionally. She has held sponsorships and built a reputation for her humble, inclusive coaching style—rooted in kindness, encouragement, and community connection.

Candra brings a creative and holistic approach to surfing, drawing from her life experience, environmental awareness, and training in personal fitness, yoga, and physical therapy to help students develop mobility, balance, and confidence in the water.

For Candra, surfing is more than a sport—it’s a way of life and a way to give back. Whether competing, coaching, or leading retreats, she is committed to empowering others to grow, both in and out of the water.
